All of the photographs here are my own, taken from various runs in my life. Below you can find the story behind them!
The earliest of my running photographs I am willing to make public, this was taken during a trip with my family to Yosemite National Park. In addition to many stunning sightings of wildlife and mountains, cool forests provided welcome breaks to the weary. Summer 2014.
The sunset on a lake in Maine really made for a wonderful picture. Summer 2017.
In training for our marathon, we twice ran at the Asylum Lake Preserve. One particular morning had a beautiful mist that caught the rising sun. It was a nice start to an otherwise miserable run through a mosquito-filled swamp. Fall 2018.
Some of the best runs to be found are in the mountains and canyons near Tucson. You can see a few other trails (like Phoneline winding parallel to the road) and the sight-seeing van's paved route alongside the seasonal stream. Spring 2019, just before my infamous helicopter rescue.
This picture was taken just before we embarked on the Illinois Marathon. We had been training on Michigan's roads and trails for a long time, and my friends and I finished together, at the same time. Spring 2019.
Arches National Park. One could see a long way if they peaked out of the right arch! The beautiful scenery also allowed one to rest under the cover of sightseeing. Spring 2020.
Taken during a hike through Antelope Canyon. It was technically not a run, but they hurried us through fast enough I'm going to count it. Spring 2024.
